@survey group - Make sure to include questions for why the students don't drink from the fountains and their opinions on improvements(unless it's too troublesome).
@test group - For our raw data, we will need your data(a map) on which water fountains don't work, which ones have bad taste/quality, and which are filthiest(appearance)
@all - someone is going to need to research which areas of the school need the most water(highly populated areas, P.E. areas, ect)
well kendy
Surveys-- we have already done surveys and are working on organizing the graphs at this moment during class. Students have not completely included reasons why they don't drink from the fountains just basic ideas.
why dont you guys do these things.
1-they do not apply to surveys
2- the testers are testing bacteria and such...
maybe you guys should go out and look to see what fountains dont work. You can taste the fountains if you wish. You can also observe the appearance while you test the taste.
The testers are doing the quality based on bacteria, calcium and minerals, and compounds that are in the water.
actually, the test group is going to record which fountains work and only test the water quality of those. the appearance is not a factor that we are concerned about, at least our group isn't. we want to test the ph and composition of the water before and after chlorination. our water comes from a well and is regularly tested. we are going to test water from the tank and the fountains. we will also measure the pressure of the water as well as the hardness. we can see which ones are dirty so that the other water group can come up w/solutions for it, but we dont want to taste them because the fountains look scary.
@test group - You guys have 5 members, so Per 2 can maybe test which fountains are filthiest/bad tasting, because we need to know which areas need the most improvement
Our group can figure out which areas need water the most
do we HAVE to taste the water? its not very practical because taste is based upon opinion and how would we measure that? even if we tasted it, other students will have different opinions about that. we will test the quality of the water but i am unclear of how to measure the taste.
uhh...if u dont want to that's ok, its not that important
this is the water group, we will finish are water testing next week do any of the other groups need any data before then? We also have a lot of other information that I can send to anyone who needs it.
when will we start the testing? we should have definate numbers on all the working fountains, like a final copy instead of the rough draft before we start testing. kendy still wants us to rate the cleanliness of the fountains. i guess we can use a number scale from 1-5. are we going to do the testing after school or duing school?
Hi I need the chemical info from the water testing group as soon as possible. Kelsey send it to K_I_S@msn.com
if anybody needs the water testing results just e-mail me at gsllfrnndz@yahoo.com and i will send it to you.
we measured the pH, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen of every working drinking fountain.
