Group 4 Project Symposium

Date: Wednesday, April 29th
Location: RMHS Library
Time: 6:00-7:00pm

Every group needs to have a presentation prepared on TWO medias. You will need a powerpoint presentation as well as a poster. We will present the powerpoints from 6:00-6:30pm and then stand by your posters and answer questions from 6:30-7:00pm. The same information should be presented on both medias.

The presentation will be due IN CLASS on Wednesday, April 22. During lunch, we will do a practice run through. This will be graded. You must turn in your presentation on a flash drive on the 22nd in class so that I can load it onto my computer in preperation for the lunch time run through. Failure to have this ready will result in a severe drop in your grade. NO EXCUSES. Have it ready the day before to avoid penalties. You are welcome to turn it in early.

Is the poster going to be due in class on the Wednesday we present on lunch?

I'd much rather focus on the ppt, and have that next week to make the poster/board, and have it done by the symposium on the 29th.

Let me know.

How harshly are you going to grade us on how long our presentation is? Right now our group is having trouble with the time restraint. Tomorrow, because it is supposed to be a practice run are you going to mark us down if the presentation is too long? Or is that the point or tomorrow, for you to see what we have done and give us tips on what we need to improve?

Tomorrow is to be taken seriously but I will be giving tips and making suggestions for improvements. If necessary, we will have another practice run before Wednesday. I'm mainly concerned about the entire presentation running no longer than 25 minutes. The grading will not be extremely harsh when it comes to time tomorrow but you may have to re-present your portion if we have to cut it down substantially or make major adjustments. This will not affect your grade as long as you are prepared tomorrow and successfully make all of the suggested corrections upon the re-presentation. We want to be at our best next week. I don't expect tomorrow's presentation to be as good as it will in a week. I'm expecting to have to fix some things. However, I'm most definitely expecting you to be prepared. I get the feeling that most everyone is so tomorrow should run smoothly. :-)

Is the whole group supposed to present or just one person?
