Summer is almost over :( and IB chem is about to begin :)

Alright future chemistry studs, the time has come to get serious about that packet if you haven't done so already. Please be aware that if you fail to turn in a completed packet on the first day of school you will be dropped from the course. NO EXCEPTIONS. This is a fairly easy assignment and if you have had trouble finding the time to complete it over the summer you are going to have an even tougher time during the year. Please feel free to email or post any questions. Good luck and see you all on August 26th!!

Hey Ms. Marostica. I've completed the packet and looked at all of the online tutorials, but are we actually going to be graded on the work? I'm the kind of person who needs to have things explained and I don't want to be dropped from the course because I didn't have all of the answers right. Are you going to grade it or just check for completion and effort?

Oh I forgot to ask something! What exactly do you want to be in our binders on the first day of school? Do you want dividers or...something else...?

You will not be graded on the work. You will get credit for having it completed. We will review the packet a little the first day and you can ask questions at lunch or after school. You will be tested on the 2nd day so it's important to try your best to understand the material and not just fill in random information to gain credit. This test, although it does count for points, is mainly a way for me to assess where everyone stands with the material. On thursday, we will review the entire test and clear up any misunderstandings before moving on.
You don't need dividers for the binders but you can use them if you want. Once I explain their purpose, you are free to organize it however you like. An empty binder on the first day is fine.
